Teresa Mercado-Gans graduated from the University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing in 2022, earning a Master of Science in Nursing with dual focuses in Adult Gerontology and Occupational Environmental Health, along with a Public Health License. During her time at UCSF, she was honored with the JoAnn Lopez Student Leadership Award. She’s also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Alpha Eta Chapter, which is an International Honor Society of Nursing. Her accomplishments showcase her dedication to excellence and her enthusiasm for enhancing healthcare.
Teresa is an Advanced Practice Provider specializing in Interventional Pain and Chronic Pain Management. Her interest in this field sparked while working with veteran patients at various VA and military treatment facilities, where she witnessed firsthand how untreated chronic pain can significantly impact a person’s daily life and overall well-being.
Teresa advocates for a multidisciplinary approach to chronic pain management, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy within her practice. She emphasizes the importance of effective communication with her patients, understanding that it is crucial for achieving the best possible health outcomes. Her objective is to provide comprehensive medical care that empowers her patients to live more functional and satisfying lives.
In her leisure time, she enjoys time with family and friends, exercising, marathon running, participating in challenging obstacle course races, and traveling to new destinations.
